We have successfully worked with Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College on marketing, publicity and branding for nearly 15 years.
Over this period we have developed an acute understanding of their needs and approach that has enabled us to support them effectively as they improved student outcomes and gained recognition through Beacon status, Grade 1 OfSTED status and in 2007 the Queen’s Award.
An example of this long-term partnership is our work on the JCC branding and identity. The original identity pre-dated our involvement and was applied inconsistently in both shape and colour. We rationalized its use including redrawing it while preserving the three key elements of the local Birmingham Central Mosque, St Alban’s church and the College itself.
As the completion of the new college building approached the brand clearly needed to change to reflect the move. We held consultation sessions with senior management and presented options. It was decided that the existing brand was too recognizable to lose so we created a revised version that reflects the new building. At the same time we refined the use of colour and typography to introduce a new level of sophistication. The new branding has been rolled out to prospectuses, the soon to be re-launched web site and to signage and banners around the new site.
