Here at Homer we are always looking for ways to enhance our offer to schools and to develop services that clients will find valuable.
Working in education is not just a job for us - we are committed to providing support that makes a difference whether it is helping teachers with voice care, training staff in use of software packages, making curriculum links or project work like the self portrait sessions we run.
Because of this commitment we are always open to collaboration with our school partners. Examples of this include work placements and taking part in careers sessions as well as curriculum links.
For instance at Joseph Chamberlain College we set up links between photography students and work we were doing at BVSC around community. This involved both Brian Homer and photographer Andrew Jackson taking sessions with students and inviting them to photograph at an event in the Birmingham city centre.
With Mary Elliot Special School in Walsall we collaborated with our photography associate Roy Peters to provide an involving out of school experience for students. Roy worked with a group of students and photographed them at the school. The group then went to Roy’s studio and helped edit the images and later came to our studio to work with the images in design software. The final result was a series of large display images installed at the school. We also collaborated with Roy and dancer and arts worker Peppy Hills at Mary Elliot in a Creative partnerships project.
we are always open to developing creative collaborations in education. get in touch with Brian Homer now to talk through the possibilities.
