a fresh look at joseph chamberlain’s web site

Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College (JCC) is highly successful and needed an updated website to match that success and to reflect their new state-of-the-art building. It was time to sharpen the approach, refresh and lighten the look, improve the brand consistency and bring the technology and accessibility up to date.

The main objective was to improve the structure, so that user experience was enhanced and access to key information improved. The new site has five sections geared to different users and a much improved navigation system. Main pages for each section clearly promote aspects of the college relevant to each audience, and the site can be edited by key personnel within the college through a new content management system.

After the discussion and planning stages and once the wireframe and structure had been agreed, our web designer Matt Sadler set about the “look”. He says, “The college has a good balance of youthful freedom and serious study, and it has high expectations of its students. That’s what I wanted to reflect while taking into account their target audiences and their competition.”

We think Matt has come up with a great blend of design elements. They set the site apart from a lot of the competition but remain up to the minute. He used panels for clarity and softened them with rounded corners and visually pleasing proportions to give a look that’s free and structured at the same time. The client is very happy and so is Matt. In fact he’s got a very satisfied look on his face right now.

Check out the website link. If you are looking for something fresh that engages and informs your key audiences why not contact us here or phone 0121 551 5544 and give Matt a new challenge.
